Week of Dec 14

These two are from a short with Nando and his cousin to Cascade Canyon and Rodeo Beach.

I really hate flies and crickets too but I have to handle both quite a bit to feed the mantises.  Inevitably the flies escape and so I have to hunt them down and kill them.  This little blighter got be staying on the blinds long enough for me to press them together mushing the little bugger.

Subadult male thistle mantis, also know as the lesser devil flower mantis.  He's actually a bit deformed though even if you're familiar with mantises it's hard to tell.  His being is slightly twisted from choosing a poor place to shed from.  His choice sent him into the ground while still squishy.  Luckily I was aware of his choice and lifted him up while still gooey allowing to straighten some and continue living.  He should be back to normal by adulthood.  You can tell he's male by the thing antennae he now sports.

Alcatraz tourist shot, wonky colors from the 40 pancake.  Note the hilarious magenta casts in the corners of a bunch of images?

Everything from here on out is from Ft Funston aka doggy Valhalla where the canines go to destroy life.  Seriously this place is awesome.  No hang gliders to wig Bree out this time but she still had a good of go being batshit.

Week of Dec 7th

This is from a non-photography project though it photographed very well.  It took me forever to find someone willing to do give this a go for me and it came out well.  Much praise should be given to Michael at Paragon Frames here in SF.  Once I have the cash I'll make a few more.  They're mantis skins embedded flat in plexi.  They will be light from the side with LEDs in a frame I've designed and will soon get made on a 3D printer.

Dead gull at Ocean Beach, I swear these things are endless there.

My neighbor's dog Blossom.  She's pretty boss but doesn't like the water like my friend's dog Puma.  Unfortunately the water fills Bree with endless joy so she ends up bouncing in and of the water to play with Blossom and the waves.

Bree being and my canon 5Dii being not a sports camera.  Now how awesome it would if could do it my 5Dii just can't track fast enough to keep my monster in focus when she charges me.

I've taken tons of rock texture images over the years and I have no idea what to do with them

These two are from Ocean Beach on the morning of that storm that was over publicized in the news.  Honestly it was a pretty big snoozer compared to the storms we get out in the Great Plains.

These two are from the storm day as well up near Fairfax in Cascade Canyon Open Space.  The place is simply gorgeous but has no parking.  Bree kept trying to suicide jump into those falls.

Rodeo Beach in GGNRA, bigger waves than that morning at Ocean Beach but still smaller than I have seen it in the past.

Awful tourist picture

Ocean Beach again, I'm really starting to miss the Rocky Mountains.
